ParkLives brings Manchester’s new mums together for fun in the park

June 16th 2016

Manchester mums have been out in full force for ParkLives’ Buggy Bootcamp sessions in Wythenshawe Park. Up to 20 mums at a time have taken part in the low-impact post-natal exercise classes, designed to help new mums socialise, make new friends and have fun.

The sessions are an hour long and involve using the park’s natural assets, like benches and trees, to do strengthening exercises. All while babies sit happily in their buggies!

Vicky Fletcher, ParkLives session leader, said: “The sessions provide lots of benefits for mum simply by being outdoors. As well as getting a little more active, you’re out in the fresh air and meeting other mums in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whatever the weather, local mums have been really keen to come along and always feel energised after the session.”

Buggy Bootcamp and similar ParkLives sessions are held in a number of cities across the UK. You can find a full timetable of sessions – including a postcode-led local park finder – right here at, where you can also register and book to save yourself a space.
